Latest IT Development in Enterprise News

We do our best to stay on top of technology development in Enterprise News that may potentially impact our clients. Here are some of the more recent developments we are monitoring:

  • Explosion in the Use of Mobile Technology -Mobile technology is being integrated into society faster than any technology in history. “Smart phones, after a relatively fast start, have also outpaced nearly any comparable technology in the leap to mainstream use Faster than the telephone, television, the internet – Everything.” And yet, we are still just scratching the surface when it comes to deploying mobile technologies into the industry. The potential uses for apps is still just getting started. In our case we are deploying CRM and Help Desk app solutions for mobile devices as quickly as we can get them ready.
  • The Internet of Things (IoT) IoT refers to the expanding number of devices that now have computers built it from the factory. These newly enabled devices are showing up everywhere, roadways, pacemakers, toys, autos, appliances, other medical devices and more. It seems that nearly every new device coming on line is internet ready, and mobile devices control many of these devices through wireless access. These “network hungry” devices are driving demand for both wired and wireless bandwidth and that in turn is driving demand for storage and servers. There are also security issues when nearly everything has intelligence built in.
  • The Cloud – According to PC Magaizine, The Cloudcloud computing means storing and accessing data and programs over the Internet instead of your computer’s hard drive. The cloud is just a metaphor for the Internet. It goes back to the days of flowcharts and presentations that would represent the gigantic server-farm infrastructure of the Internet as nothing but a puffy, white cumulonimbus cloud, accepting connections and doling out information as it floats.” The Cloud in the business world opens up the deployment of applications from the business premise to the internet. While the demand for premise based servers is decreasing, the demand for server based farms to support is exploding. As applications move from premise based to the cloud, there will be less of a need for IT support people in many organizations. It will also mean IT dollars will be mov ing from equipment to Software as a Service (SAAS).

These and other technology developments with have monumental impact on most businesses.
